Maternity Beach Photo Shoot: Not So Fun During Rainy Season

Moments before the rain came down we got the shot!

Living in Southwest Florida we are fortunate to have the opportunity to utilize our beautiful  Fort Myers Beach as the backdrop for some amazing photos.Getting that amazing shot doesn't come without its complications. We are constantly inundated with those visitors stooping for the perfect shell right in the back of the photo. You have the tides to contend with, bugs, the smell of fish ... but NOTHING is worse than the summer rainy season. This week we had a beautiful mother to be and we took her to our favorite spot on Fort Myers Beach. After nearly an hour of photos we were at sunset and wow did we get a spectacular sunset!!! There we were shooting our last shots when we felt a drop or two which prompted us to quickly put the cameras away. But were weren't quick enough to escape the downpour that came next. There we were with all of our gear running to the shelter on the widest part of the beach by the time we got there we were all looking like drowned rats!! Luckily the gear is A-OK and  best of all WE GOT THE SHOT!!!! Here are some of the highlights of our last session. Newborn Babies... So Sweet

When you look through the web looking at pictures of those sweet little bundles of joy you just have no idea what it takes to get that perfect shot. Doting mom's and dad's in the wings, hot air blowing from the blow dryer to keep it warm and toasty, sweat dripping from the photographers assistant (that's me). All these elements come together to show a beautiful newborn at their best. Look at this variety of sweet babies we have here. At Baby Feet Fotos we try and create beautiful images of those first few weeks of life.

Family Photo Shoot Ideas

What to Wear

We are constantly being asked what to wear for a family photo shoot. It is very pleasing to have a group with a similar theme to their clothing. I really like it when one or two colors are brought throughout the family in different parts of their clothing.

                                                                                                                     

We had one particular family where the main color was a vibrant blue and yellow theme. Boys had yellow shirts with blue jeans, dad had the blue shirt  that matched the insignia on the boys shirt and the mom wore the same blue in a beaded necklace. It was such a complimentary design in color.

Another family photographed on the beach wore khaki and white but the difference was some had khaki pants, capri's or skirts and different styles of tops. This way they kept their own sense of style but also kept with the color theme.

And many do the blue jeans and white shirts. This is nice for an outdoor shoot. I would like it if a pop of color was added just to mix it up a bit.

Whatever you choose to wear for your shoot just remember to keep each person showing their own individuality nothing worse than years later looking back and wondering ...."why did we wear that?"
